PARIS (AP) — Air France-KLM expects to continue reducing its headcount this year by not replacing employees who retire or quit the company, Europe's largest airline said Friday.

"The expected evolution of employment numbers between now and the end of the fiscal year are about 2,500 to 3,000 natural departures out of total employment of 107,000," Air France spokeswoman Marina Tymen said.

Air France-KLM "doesn't currently expect to implement partial unemployment measures" such as cuts to working hours Tymen said, adding that the airline "will adapt to the changing economic conditions."

The figure of 3,000 job cuts was reported by French daily newspaper Le Parisien on Friday. In an interview on French radio station RTL, Chief Executive Pierre-Henri Gourgeon said the planned headcount reduction was in-line with the airline's number of natural departures last year.
