NEW YORK (AP) — A Goldman Sachs analyst downgraded Sara Lee Corp. Monday on the likelihood that the food maker's stock will trail the rest of her portfolio over the next year.
Analyst Judy Hong said in a client note that the Downers Grove, Ill.-based company's "less prominent brand portfolio in the U.S. could make (it) vulnerable to price cuts."
Macroeconomic conditions, like the stronger dollar, are also likely to squeeze its Western European sales, she added.
Sara Lee is the maker of Jimmy Dean sausages, Hillshire Farm deli meats and Ball Park franks, among other items.
Hong lowered Sara Lee to "Sell" from "Neutral."
