Virgin Media's Chief Financial Officer Resigns

NEW YORK (AP) — Virgin Media Inc. said Tuesday its chief financial officer, Jerry Elliott, will resign from the company due to family health reasons.

Elliott's resignation is effective May 31.

Rick Martin, the company's treasurer, will handle capital markets and treasury functions on an interim basis. Robert Gale, Virgin Media's controller, will serve as the primary financial officer for purposes of financial reporting until a replacement can be found.

Virgin Media, which provides broadband, television, mobile telephone and fixed-line telephone services in the United Kingdom, will begin a search for a permanent replacement soon.
