IMS Health Elects Sheares To Board Of Directors

NORWALK, Conn. (AP) Pharmaceutical and health care market research firm IMS Health Inc. said Tuesday it elected Bradley Sheares to its board of directors.

Sheares, 52, will join the board April 21. IMS said he has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years, serving as Chief Executive of Reliant Pharmaceuticals and as a former President of U.S. Health for Merck and Co.

IMS Health shares rose 32 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $11.52 in afternoon trading during a broader market rally.
