SAN FRANICSO -- A new
Apple (AAPL Quote) Mac mini is slated to launch at Macworld 2009. The big news here is that the new model will include a Mini DVI connector as well as a Mini DisplayPort. With these two new connecting points, users could enable two displays at the same time.
Also, if you have a Mac or plan on picking one up, you might want to consider security.

Now more about the mini Mac.
A new Apple Mac mini is supposed to launch at Macworld 2009. The big news here is that the new model will include a Mini DVI connector as well as a Mini DisplayPort.
With these two new connecting points, users could enable two displays at the same time, and with the addition of the
NVIDIA (NVDA Quote) chipset, this ends up making the Apple Mac mini a much more robust machine.
In the past, I've used Mac mini's as uber external drives, but with this additional hardware, this could be a great media gadget for both the home or office.
If you have a Mac, or plan on picking one up, you might want to consider security.
Whether you want to lock a
desktop unit to a desk, or need to secure a laptop while on the road, there are lots of
solutions here.
The Apple Dual Component Security Slot Lock I looked at can be used on desktops, laptops or even monitors, but I was looking for a solution for notebooks.
There are two parts to this lock, including one 6' steel security cable and one stainless
steel lock. It's easy to install, and works with the built-in security slot.
What I liked about this particular lock is that unlike some other models, this one
is not electronic and does not require batteries, so the chances of it being rendered
null are better.
Of note on this particular lock: It will only fit with 12" and 15" models, not the 17" ones.
