SAN FRANCISCO -- Business software developer
Oracle(ORCL Quote) named a new chief financial officer Wednesday who has a strong background in the online advertising and marketing worlds.
Jeff Epstein, who most recently was the CFO of privately held game developer
Oberon Media, will report to current CFO and Co-President Safra Catz beginning in September.
A company spokeswoman confirmed that Catz will continue to serve as co-president with Charles Phillips.
"Jeff's expertise in global operations and finance will further strengthen Oracle's senior management team," Oracle CEO Larry Ellison said in a press release.
Epstein has spent much of his career at companies in the online marketing and media world. He was previously CFO at display-advertising business DoubleClick while it was a public company. DoubleClick, later bought by a private-equity firm, was acquired recently by
Google(GOOG Quote).
According to Oracle, Epstein also held the CFO role at King World Productions, an affiliate of CBS Studios, and at the marketing services firm ADVO, which is now known as
Valassis(VCI Quote).
Epstein is a director on the boards of
Priceline.com(PCLN Quote) and
MDC Partners(MDCA Quote).
