SAN FRANCISCO --
Nvidia(NVDA - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) said Thursday that its finance chief is retiring.
Chief Financial Officer Marvin Burkett announced his intentions to retire on Friday, according to a regulatory filing by the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker. Nvidia said Burkett is expected to remain in his post while the company searches for a replacement, and may continue in some capacity with the company thereafter.
Burkett is a chip industry veteran, who served a 26-year stint at microprocessor maker
Advanced Micro Devices(AMD - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr), including a role as CFO.
He has served as Nvidia's finance chief since 2002, presiding over a period of robust growth for the maker of graphics chips. During his 6-year tenure, Nvidia's revenue has grown from $1.9 billion in his first full year on the job to $4.1 billion in the most recently ended fiscal year; net income has increased from $90.8 million to $747.6 million.
Shares of Nvidia were off a penny at $19.66 in midday trading Thursday.
