The Mac Owners' Conceit

Everyone's buzzing about my recent video that was based off of a Jan. 28
AdAge report that research by Mindset Media called Mac users "snobs."
Once a small group, Mac users have grown by infinite proportions, on their way to taking over the world (perhaps why we should wary of invoking anger in the masses). As a collective unit, the study calls them
Starbucks-frequenting, hybrid station-wagon-driving, teeth-whitening, green perfectionists.
A lot of Mac users are up in arms about my video. In perusing the Web, many of you deny your five-sneakers-per-year purchases, while some have even threatened to break out paint cans in effort to spray away any idea that you might be an environmentalist.
Be proud, o Mac user! Do you not see the positives in some of these characteristics? Being green is the new black, after all.
And who says it's bad that you have the honor and integrity to pay for the music you download on that notebook of which you are so proud? Yes, my video may call you self-centered, arrogant and conceited. And yes, so what that you may be a little over-concerned with your image, as you stroll through the organic foods aisle with your venti Mocha No-Whip Starbucks Frappuccino Light in hand?
After all, it appears my video may have ruffled some PC feathers as well (hopefully not falling in line with the PC character in
Apple'sAAPL Mac ads who seems, well, uptight). The study does imply the, to put it politely, frugality of PC users, in that they do not pay for downloadable music nearly as much as their Mac counterparts. Not to mention, if Mac users are supposedly the ones cruising the streets in their hybrid cars -- one can only guess who's behind the wheel of those gas-guzzling SUV's.
If you haven't seen it yet, check out my video,
Mac Users are Snobs ." And please, have an open mind. After all, 60% of you Mac users are supposed to have a more open personality anyway. Are Mac users really snobs? You be the judge.
