The Fund Manager Shuffle

It's always important to keep a close watch on the fundamentals and performance of any of your mutual funds. But it's also important to know about the wizard behind the curtain pulling on the strings and running your investment.
That's why we're monitoring the manager changes going on at the mutual funds we track. Below is a list of the changes that took place during May.
Fidelity
At
Fidelity, Daniel Kelley started managing
(FSHOX)Select Construction and Housing (FSHOX). Kelley's focus has been on office and residential construction as well as specialized REITs. He arrived at Fidelity in 2005 after stints at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.
Elsewhere at Fidelity, Melissa Reilly assumed a managerial position for
(FAEAX)Europe Capital Appreciation (FAEAX) and
(FIEAX)Advisor Europe Capital Appreciation (FIEAX) and a co-manager position for
(FGBLX)Global Balanced (FGBLX). She began at Fidelity in 2004, working primarily in the international food manufacturing, HPC, luxury goods and general retail sectors.
Matthew Sabel took the helm at
(FACDX)Advisor Health Care (FACDX). He started in Fidelity's equity research department in 2000 after serving as a health care consultant at Putnam Associates. Sabel succeeded Aaron Cooper, who moved to a managing director of research position.
Edward (Eddie) Lee Yoon succeeded Cooper, who was also portfolio manager of
(FSMEX)Select Medical Equipment and Systems (FSMEX). Since joining Fidelity as an equity research analyst in 2006, Yoon has concentrated on medical technology companies.
Pimco
At
Pimco, William H. Gross, CFA, became manager of
(IPRAX)ING Partners Pimco Total Return (IPRAX).
Cyrille Conseil was named portfolio manager for the closed-end
(PFL)Floating Rate Income (PFL) and
(PFN)Floating Rate Strategy (PFN). Conseil succeeded Ray Kennedy, who announced his retirement. Conseil started at Pimco in 1998 as senior member of Pimco's credit research division.
Icon Funds
Derek Rollingson and Robert Strauss assumed managerial positions of
Icon (ICENX)Energy (ICENX). Rollingson joined the firm in 2000, prior to which he worked as a research analyst at Navigant Consulting. Strauss came aboard the following year. Todd Burchett took on sole management of
(ICHCX)Healthcare (ICHCX) and
(ISTAX)Long/Short (ISTAX). Prior to joining Icon in 2005, Burchett was a research and training assistant at Ohio State University.
American Century
John T. Small Jr. became manager of
American Century (ACFDX)Legacy Focus Large-Cap (ACFDX),
(ACMFX)Legacy Multi-Cap (ACMFX) and
(ACGDX)Legacy Large-Cap (ACGDX).
Integrity
Robert Loest was named manager of
Integrity (IHLAX)Health Sciences (IHLAX),
(ICPAX)Small-Cap Growth (ICPAX) and
(ITKAX)Technology (ITKAX). Loest, who has a Ph.D. in biology, has been a money manager since 1987.
Delaware Investments
Paul Grillo and Roger A. Early became managers of
Delaware (DIPAX)Inflation Protected Bond (DIPAX). Grillo came to Delaware Investments in 1992 from Dreyfus and works in the firm's taxable fixed-income portfolio management unit. Early rejoined the company in March 2007, having previously been a senior portfolio manager there from 1994 to 2001.
Marc L. Baylin, CFA, assumed management of
(OENAX)Oppenheimer Enterprise (OENAX). Baylin has served on the manager's growth equity investment team since September 2005.
AIM Investments
At
AIM, Brendan Gau and Jan H. Friedli started managing the
(AGOVX)Intermediate Government (AGOVX) and
(SHTIX)Limited Maturity Treasury (SHTIX). Gau currently manages nine funds at the firm. He joined AIM in 1996 as a fixed-income securities analyst and has also worked as a fixed-income and foreign currency trader during his tenure there. Friedli joined AIM in 1999 after being a global fixed-income portfolio manager at Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management.
DWS-Scudder
Brent Reeder took over as sole manager of the
DWS (SXPAX)S&P 500 Index (SXPAX).
Eaton Vance
Eaton Vance selected Robert Lloyd George, head of Lloyd George Management, to manage its
(ETEMX)Emerging Markets (ETEMX). George's eponymous firm focuses on accomplishing long-term growth in Asian and other emerging markets.
Janus
Andrew Acker assumed sole leadership of
Janus (JAGLX)Global Life Science (JAGLX). Since joining Janus as a securities analyst in 1999, Acker has managed accounts and undertaken research analysis.
