Apple Mac's Getting EA Games

Electronic Arts(ERTS Quote) is set to make its presence felt on Apple's(AAPL Quote) Mac.

EA will release four games for the Mac this summer with two more to come later this year.

Redwood Shores, Calif.-based EA will bring the popular Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix game, racing game Need for Speed Carbon, military action thriller Battlefield 2142 and real-time strategy hit Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars to the Mac OS X in the next few weeks, the company revealed Monday at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Later this year, EA will ship Madden NFL 08 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 from its blockbuster sports franchises for the Mac at the same time the game releases for other platforms.

Shares of EA were off 26 cents to $48.87 recent trading. Apple's stock was down $4.25 to $120.24.
