Economists had been anticipating a slight increase in consumer prices for November, but when the headline number came out, it was unchanged from the prior month.
That marked the third-straight month the consumer price index didn't increase. The core index, which excludes food and energy, was also flat month over month, the Labor Department said Friday.
Analysts were expecting a 0.2% advance in both the overall CPI and the core rate.
