Monday's ETF Winners & Losers

Exchange-traded funds tracking software makers were among Monday's top performers. Among individual names,
Symantec (SYMC Quote) was adding 2.8%,
Adobe Systems (ADBE Quote) was gaining 2.7%, and
Oracle (ORCL Quote) was higher by 1.7%.
The
Software HOLDRs(SWH Quote) was adding 58 cents, or 1.5%, to $40.38, and the
iShares Goldman Sachs Software Index(IGV Quote) ETF was rising by 47 cents, or 1.1%, to $44.72.
Telecom-related ETFs were also stronger.
DirecTV (DTV Quote) was adding 3.8%,
Level 3 Communications (LVLT Quote) was gaining 2.2%, and
Verizon (VZ Quote) was edging higher by 1.2%.
The
Telecom HOLDRs(TTH Quote) was gaining 36 cents, or 1.1%, to $34.57, and the
PowerShares Dynamic Telecom & Wireless(PTE Quote) ETF was rising by 20 cents, or 1.1% to $19.03.
On the downside, the
SPDR Biotech (XBI Quote) was Monday's worst performing ETF, falling 3.1%.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX Quote) dropped more than 5%. The ETF was recently losing $1.59 to $49.38.
The
PowerShares Lux Nanotech (PXN Quote) ETF was also losing ground after holding
Accelrys (ACCL Quote) fell 4%. The ETF was down 18 cents, or 1%, to $17.79.
Oil-related stocks were also lower as crude prices finished weaker. The
United States Oil (USO Quote) ETF was losing 1.3% to $52.90, and the
iPath Goldman Sachs Crude Oil Index (OIL Quote) ETF was down 1.2% to $38.84.
