Bombay Stocks Bounce Back

BOMBAY -- Bombay stocks rose 1.3% Monday, bouncing back from last week's declines.
The BSE Sensex rose 129.46 points to close at 10,215.37, led by heavy buying in banking stocks.
Gainers on Monday were
ICICI Bank(IBN Quote), up 6.2%,
Wipro(WIT Quote), ahead by 4.7%, and
Satyam(SAY Quote), up 3.9%.
ICICI Bank said its first-quarter earnings rose 17%, led by rise in retail loans.
Among declining stocks,
Cipla dropped 2%,
ITC lost 1.7% and
Hindalco fell 1.4%.
Vijaya Bank gained 5.7% after it reported a 163% rise in its first-quarter profit.
