Regis Buys Hair Salons Chain

Hair salon operator Regis(RGS Quote) said it acquired a chain of 105 salons for an undisclosed amount.

The salons, located primarily in Ohio and four other states, operate under the trade names Famous Hair, Chicago Hair and Hair Inc. The transaction closed April 3 and is expected to add $34 million in annualized revenue, the company said.

"We are pleased to announce the acquisition of these affordably-priced, high-volume salons," the company said. "These salons fit nicely within our portfolio of successful salon concepts."
