In an expansion of its legal assault started this week, Advanced Micro Devices(AMD) filed two suits against Intel(INTC) in Japan seeking more than $50 million for alleged anticompetitive acts.

AMD announced the suits on Thursday; it filed the claims through its AMD Japan unit.

AMD's suit in the Tokyo High Court seeks $50 million in damages and stems from the Japan Fair Trade Commission's findings in March that Intel violated the country's antimonopoly act.

AMD also sued Intel in the Tokyo District Court seeking "millions of dollars of damages for various anticompetitive acts in addition to what is covered" by the Japan Fair Trade Commission decision.

Earlier this week, AMD sued Intel in the U.S. alleging antitrust violations. Intel refuted the allegations Wednesday.

For all of the activity, though, the stocks of both companies have traded in line with peer stocks this week. On Thursday, AMD shares ticked up 14 cents to $17.51 and Intel gained a penny to $26.26.
