Openwave in Messaging Pact With IBM

Openwave Systems(OPWV Quote) announced an agreement with IBM(IBM Quote) covering the marketing and deployment of messaging and mobile data solutions for communications purposes.

The IP-based communications software company will tailor its messaging suite software to run on IBM's AIX operating system and p-Series eServers, while IBM will provide consulting and professional services.

Shares of Openwave were trading up 8.3% to $6 in Instinet premarket action on news of the agreement.
