Hold Out for a Better Time on Hasbro

By Gary B. Smith

Boy, those fundies. Such good ideas, such lousy timing! Hasbro (HAS:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis) is a great example. I'm sure Arne has made all the usual points about earnings, growth, valuation, etc. But what he hasn't fine-tuned is exactly when to buy.

As you can see below, the time is near, but not quite there. Assuming Arne is right, you really give up very little upside by waiting to see if Hasbro can truly break through resistance. If it does, then consider the few extra percentage points you lost as "insurance." But, if it comes crashing back -- a distinct possibility -- you haven't lost a dime!

Remember, the fundamental story can certainly be part of the picture. But add in TA and you have an even sweeter investment.
