How about a new Research In Motion (RIMM - commentary - Cramer's Take) device? I carry my PC everywhere because I don't feel I get enough functionality from any phone company product. Then I see this BlackBerry Storm and I curse that I just got a new LG phone (although I got it for nothing because my other phone broke, an old Motorola (MOT - commentary - Cramer's Take), and I was covered by a policy). I absolutely love the look and feel of the product and I wish I had one. I would buy one for myself ... unless someone wanted to buy one for me! (Check out Gary Krakow's review of the Storm. It looks amazing.) For Apple (AAPL - commentary - Cramer's Take), the big thing isn't just iPod and the new Macs and the iPhone, although the price point is so great for that and we know that AT&T (T - commentary - Cramer's Take) is selling them like mad courtesy of an interview on my show. But how about this App Store, lots of games and software that can be downloaded, something that might gift-certificate-able, and it can also be something that people give directly to each other. I believe strongly that these are the two best plays for the holidays right now. I believe, like everyone else, that things are gloomy. But there is always a Christmas, and we know that Apple has defied the gloom so far, and RIMM has the new products to defy the gloom, too. Obviously, judging by the monster move in Apple, I am not alone. But I think it works on a pullback and I think RIMM works right here. At the time of publication, Cramer had no positions in the stocks mentioned.
