If Anadarko (APC - commentary - Cramer's Take) or Apache (APA - commentary - Cramer's Take) woke up tomorrow and said, "We are going to split into oil and gas," you would catch the same moves you got in Encana (ECA - commentary - Cramer's Take). That's just the way it is, because right now these stocks can do no wrong.

Of course, the problem is the oil inventories. You buy them or Southwestern Energy (SWN - commentary - Cramer's Take) or XTO Energy (XTO - commentary - Cramer's Take) or Devon (DVN - commentary - Cramer's Take) or Ultra Petroleum (UPL - commentary - Cramer's Take) or Chesapeake (CHK - commentary - Cramer's Take) today, and you get either a high oil inventory number tomorrow or a high natural gas number Thursday, and you are going to be able to buy these lower, when, of course, you won't want to buy them, because they will look so bad.

This is the lot of buying the hottest group in the game. The natural-gas-and-oil companies have so much going for them that you have had to chase them for months.

But I think you have to remember that there are these little breaks that are sharp selloffs, and they are the ones you need to buy.

I always say to wait for the moronic trade where the bears push down some ETF or index that allows for a quick crunching, and the bulls then panic and leave the table. It happens either on a Wednesday or Thursday, no matter what.

Wait. Watch. And remember, any one of these could be the next Encana, and after the reaction that ECA generated, it's worth making the bet.

At the time of publication, Cramer was long XTO Energy.
