Don't Add DoubleClick to Your Portfolio

Boy, I just don't get the case for DoubleClick (DCLK:Nasdaq - news - commentary - research - analysis). As I've said repeatedly in this spot, I'll even stipulate the fundies might have a point. But even given that, if you have some serious overhead -- and that downtrend line has proven to be serious overhead for DoubleClick -- why not wait until it's closed comfortably above it?

You see, trading is all above stacking the odds in your favor. Personally, then, I'd rather buy a stock that has just taken out a downtrend line, and that I know is strong, rather than buying into the story.

Sure, you might give up a few points, but over the long haul, you'll save yourself a ton of pain by waiting.
