More Power to Manpower

I haven't had a swimming update for a while, so here goes. On the eve of the Junior Olympics, where's Diana? Retired. The Speedo has been hung up, the goggles put back in their case, and the water bottle gathers dust.

Why? It's a long story, but the Net version goes like this: When the current and anticipated effort far exceeds the current and anticipated rewards, then it's time to move on. In short, Diana and I boiled everything down to a simple effort-reward analysis and decided to scratch this trade and move on.

Was it the right decision? Let's put it this way: Swimming hasn't been mentioned since she got out of the water three weeks ago.

Today, the Nasdaq 100 Unit Trust (QQQ - commentary - Cramer's Take), Manpower (MAN - commentary - Cramer's Take), Gildan Activewear (GIL - commentary - Cramer's Take), Nvidia (NVDA - commentary - Cramer's Take), Dow Chemical (DOW - commentary - Cramer's Take), Xilinx (XLNX - commentary - Cramer's Take) and Morgan Stanley (MWD - commentary - Cramer's Take).

And that is the final word from the Charlotte Coliseum, where I fully expect to see Maryland and Duke in the ACC finale. Devils by 12. The NCAA? Devils and Terps in the Sweet 16, but neither makes it to the Final Four.
