Or how about Sprint (S - commentary - Trade Now)? It has the Palm (PALM - commentary - Trade Now) Pre, which is a big deal even if it is for a short term. The group's finally got some lift, and I think Sprint's a natural to be bought or to turn. Brocade's (BRCD - commentary - Trade Now) sneaking up here, and I have always thought that the Cisco (CSCO - commentary - Trade Now) competitor would make a nice fit with Hewlett-Packard (HPQ - commentary - Trade Now). I am a continual believer that eBay (EBAY - commentary - Trade Now) should be purchased just for PayPal, and the company's recent presentation didn't do much to quell such thoughts. Ironically, the one name that has so often been linked with "takeover," Yahoo! (YHOO - commentary - Trade Now), seems to have totally dropped off the target radar screen, and the CFO appointment seems to indicate that any speculation is just plain over. Still, this is the group where deals are alive and well. Expect more before the summer begins in earnest. This is another reason I think shorting the PowerShares QQQ (QQQQ - commentary - Trade Now) or betting against the Nasdaq here is just a sucker's play.
