The "strength of tech." I hear it, you hear it. The "resilience" of tech -- another one I hear.
Look at where Microsoft (MSFT - commentary - Cramer's Take) is. Cisco's (CSCO - commentary - Cramer's Take) just going down every day. Google (GOOG - commentary - Cramer's Take), which I like very much, is one step forward and a step and a quarter back. Can someone tell me where they see strength in the semis? I tend to look at Intel (INTC - commentary - Cramer's Take) as a bellwether and at Applied Materials. Research In Motion (RIMM - commentary - Cramer's Take)? Autodesk (ADSK - commentary - Cramer's Take)? Citrix (CTXS - commentary - Cramer's Take)? Lam Research (LRCX - commentary - Cramer's Take)? KLA-Tencor (KLAC - commentary - Cramer's Take)? Nope. Not there. Where is this strength? Show it to me? I want to see it? How about the Big Board stocks? Texas Instruments (TXN - commentary - Cramer's Take)? National Semi (NSM - commentary - Cramer's Take)? Seagate (STX - commentary - Cramer's Take)? Maybe Analog Devices (ADI - commentary - Cramer's Take)? Hewlett-Packard (HPQ - commentary - Cramer's Take)? EMC (EMC - commentary - Cramer's Take)? It's too ridiculous to be believed. We have to recognize that the strength is relative, versus the housing and auto and banking sectors. Otherwise, I just have to tune it out. I might start believing it if I keep hearing it, even though it is obviously and empirically not true. At the time of publication, Cramer was long EMC.
