Sometimes the big picture sneaks up and bites you right in the butt while you are struggling with market minutiae. I am on this Colgate (CL - commentary - Cramer's Take) call, trying to figure out raw costs, trying to assess the consumer, trying to understand the rotation on my screen out of the Gilettes (G - commentary - Cramer's Take) and into the who-knows-whats, and in the middle of the call they are droning on about Mexico and how strong the market is there and how they have to take up their numbers internally because of the strength and how the GDP could be on fire. In Mexico.
Here I am trying to figure out whether July downticked from June or whether July's up from June in this country as measured by thousands of different bits of information, and here's Colgate saying that South of the Border, things are booming.
So, what do I do? I have ordered a screen of companies with big Mexican exposure and I have tried to find out more about that housing play that just came public from Mexico, Homex (HXM - commentary - Cramer's Take).
And I am coming to you, our most knowledgeable base, to ask: Anybody got any good Mexican stocks I can work on? Banking? Homebuilding? I would do Telmex (TMX - commentary - Cramer's Take), but what a terrible business model! Send me an email.
