Bottom-Fishers, Bait Your Hooks for Compaq

As if the market going down every day weren't enough to kill the bulls' confidence, we now get a glimmer of hope, then kill the bulls' confidence with a vicious retreat. Yesterday was truly an ouch! kind of day.

However, I'm neither bull nor bear. What I am is just a guy who likes to get on the right side of the trend and ride it for a few days. Yeah, I know, easier said than done this year.

But, we persevere while looking at the Dow, Union Acceptance (UACA:Nasdaq - news - commentary - research - analysis), IBM (IBM:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis), Abbott Laboratories (ABT:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis), Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis), Compaq (CPQ:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis) and Kmart (KM:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis).

And that is it from Centre Court, where a Williams/Williams final looks awfully intriguing, and an Agassi/Sampras match tonight will have me up way past my bedtime.
