Coming out will be Molex (MOLX), Invitrogen (IVGN), Career Education (CECO), Dollar Tree (DLTR), Sanmina (SANM), Novellus (NVLS), Smurfit-Stone (SSCC), Intersil (ISIL), Level 3 (LVLT - Get Report) , Qlogic (QLGC), Synopsys (SNPS) and Millennium Pharmaceuticals (MLNM).
The changes will take effect Dec. 19. The Nasdaq 100 is designed to comprise the largest and most liquid nonfinancial stocks on the Nasdaq. The addition of a stock to the group often creates buying interest in the market as mutual funds designed to mimic the index's performance add it to their portfolios.
