Stora Enso to Purchase Consolidated Papers

Continuing the spate of mergers in the paper industry, Finland's Stora Enso has agreed to acquire American competitor Consolidated Papers (CDP Quote) for 4.9 billion euros, or $4.8 billion, in stock, cash and debt. The new company will have the world's largest capacity to make paper and cardboard.| |
