Samsung Shows Off At IFA

Forget about alphabetical order. Today it was Sony first then Samsung in the race to announce new products at the IFA 2012 confab in Berlin.
As expected, Samsung introduced the gathered masses to their upcoming Galaxy Note (giant smartphone/small tablet, or “phablet”). The new version is very slightly bigger (if that's possible) and heavier. Has an even larger screen – now 5.5 inches! Plus 2GB of RAM, NFC and runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS.

First, a big HDTV. What they call 4K. Much higher-def than we can get here. Size of the screen? 84-inches (diagonal). Can't begin to imagine what it will cost if and when it shows up here.

Will Samsung "Downgrade" Their Guilty Android Phones?

Even though the court fight still has a few more rounds to go it looks like Samsung is taking last Friday's jury verdict very seriously.
According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Samsung has begun contacting U.S. cellular providers to discuss the best way to retroactively remove those features found to be in conflict with Apple patents from the eight phones in question.
