Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York has teamed up with IBM, tapping the tech giant’s Watson supercomputer to boost treatment and research. On Thursday, the world-famous cancer treatment center announced that it’s working with Big Blue on a tool built on Watson, which will provide medical professionals with improved access to cancer data and practices.

Apple’s new iPad, which arrives in U.S. stores on Friday, is already in consumers’ hands in Australia. Investors, though, will be keen to see which companies’ chips and other components have won coveted slots within the eagerly-anticipated device.

I’m heading back down to Silicon Valley today on the final day of my West Coast trip. After spending time with Cisco yesterday, I will be meeting up with another hardware heavyweight, HP, at the company’s Cupertino offices.

First up is a meeting with Bruce Dahlgren, senior vice president of managed enterprise solutions for HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), who will be explaining how the tech giant is building deeper relationships with enterprise customers.

I will be heading out of San Francisco on Thursday, taking the Caltrain down to sunny San Jose to visit Cisco, where I have some interesting interviews lined up.

It’s all Apple today – I am about to head over to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater for the tech giant’s big product launch. While we don’t know any details about the likely next-generation iPad, one thing’s for certain; it’s going to be busy at the event in downtown San Francisco.

Intel looked at microserver company SeaMicro before its recent acquisition by AMD, according to Diane Bryant, general manager of Intel’s Datacenter and Connected Systems Group.
