$80 Android Tablet Announced
Ematic eGlide 4 Will Run Android 4.0
By Gary Krakow
One of this morning's many press releases announced an $80 Android tablet (actually $79.99 to be exact). Usually I don’t write about most the items I hear about. But, an eighty dollar tablet needs to be discussed.
The company is called Ematic. They call themselves “a leader in value tablets”. The release goes on to say they're also a “leader in portable media”. I had never heard of them before.
But, they have a new Android tablet that they're calling the eGlide 5. It boasts a 7-inch touchscreen, a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 5GB of cloud storage, a microSD card slot, office suite software and it can connect to your HDTV.
The most interesting specification is that is runs on Android 4.0. The now famous “Ice Cream Sandwich”. And, it costs only 80 bucks.
According to today's press release Ematic's eGlide 4 is available, online at walmart.com.
