Beat the Street Returns This Weekend By RealMoney Staff 4/3/2008 2:45 PM EDT

Greetings from the RealMoney editors' desk.

We wanted to remind you that TheStreet.com is gearing up for another round of Beat The Street. If you are an active stock picker, it's a chance to earn some hard cash, and a risk-free way for expert investors to challenge investment theories, or novice investors to get their feet wet.

You can start playing on Friday, April 4, and the game gets underway next Monday.

Here's how it works:

Players can win up to $5,000.00 a week and up to $60,000 total by playing ever week.

Players get $250,000 in fantasy dollars to invest in five stocks. At the end of the week, the portfolio with the highest value is the winner. Players can make one change to their portfolio during the week to try and improve performance.

Beat the Street offers a player leaderboard, so participants can see how they -- and their competition -- are doing
