NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Several small-cap stocks were poised to move on above-average volume during Friday's session
YRC Worldwide (YRCW Quote) jumped by 22 cents, or 5.4%, to $4.28 in the premarket session ahead of the company's third-quarter earnings report. Analysts expect a loss of $1.70 in the quarter, according to Thomson Reuters. The three-month average daily volume for YRC Worldwide is 9.7 million, according to Yahoo! Finance. Ruth's Hospitality Group (RUTH Quote) dropped by 35 cents, or 9.7%, to $3.26 in the premarket session even after the company posted a better-than-expected third-quarter adjusted loss of a penny a share, compared to expectations the restaurant operator would record a loss of two cents a share. However, revenue fell 21% from a year ago to $77.8 million, disappointing analysts who anticipated $80.7 million in sales. The three-month average daily volume for Ruth's Hospitality is 161,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. Alcatel-Lucent (ALU Quote) fell by 32 cents, or 7.7%, to $3.85 in the premarket session after the company reported a third-quarter loss of 182 million euros ($270 million), widening from the year-ago loss of 40 million euros. Revenue fell by 9% from a year ago to 3.69 billion euros, below expectations Alcatel would say it had revenue of 3.91 billion euros. The three-month average daily volume for Alcatel is 14.9 million, according to Yahoo! Finance. Radvision (RVSN Quote) surged by 68 cents, or 11.3%, to $6.69 in the premarket session, one day after the company topped the Thomson Reuters average earnings and revenue targets for the third-quarter. The three-month average daily volume for Radvision is 197,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. AXT (AXTI Quote) was climbing by 27 cents, or 14.1%, to $2.19 in the premarket session after the company late Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $2.1 million or income of 7 cents a share, surprising analysts who had expected a loss of two cents a share in the quarter. The three-month average daily volume for AXT is 134,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. Idenix Pharmaceuticals (IDIX Quote) lost 30 cents, or 12%, to $2.20 in the premarket session after the company said its third-quarter loss narrowed to $11.7 million, or 18 cents a share, from the year-ago quarter's loss of $16.9 million, or 30 cents a share. Analysts expected a loss of 24 cents a share, according to Thomson Reuters. The three-month average daily volume for Idenix is 217,000, according to Yahoo!
