NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Several small-cap stocks were poised to move on above-average volume during Friday's session.
Alcatel-Lucent (ALU Quote) jumped by 22 cents, or 4.9%, to $4.73 in the premarket session after Goldman Sachs upgraded the stock to buy from neutral, citing valuation. The three-month average daily volume for Alcatel is 13.9 million, according to Yahoo! Finance. CIT Group (CIT Quote) surged by 12 cents, or 10.7%, to $1.24 in the premarket session after The Wall Street Journal reported that the embattled lender has reached a tentative agreement with Goldman Sachs, easing the terms of a disputed loan and smoothing the way for CIT to gain new financing from its bondholders, citing people familiar with the matter. The three-month average daily volume for CIT Group is 88.8 million, according to Yahoo! Finance. FBR Capital Markets (FBCM Quote) rose by 35 cents, or 5.8%, to $6.38 in the premarket session after the company said a secondary offering of 12.8 million shares priced at $6 a share. The three-month average daily volume for FBR Capital is 190,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. Capital Bank Corp. (CBKN Quote) added 7 cents, or 1.4%, to $5.22 in the premarket session after the bank announced plans for an offering of $55 million in common stock in order to boost capital. The three-month average daily volume for Capital Bank is 13,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. Warren Resources (WRES Quote) sank by 28 cents, or 9.2%, to $2.75 in the premarket session after the oil and gas exploration company late Thursday announced a common stock offering pursuant to a shelf registration statement. The three-month average daily volume for Warren Resources is 398,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. FreeSeas (FREE Quote) climbed by 8 cents, or 4.9%, to $1.71 in the premarket session after the company said it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which will provide it with additional flexibility to raise capital, depending on favorable market conditions. The three-month average daily volume for FreeSeas is 688,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC Quote) rose by 18 cents, or 8.4%, to $2.32 in the premarket session after Northland Securities upgraded the stock to outperform from market perform and assigned a price target of $3.25 a share.
