NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- After the market close, Stockpickr updates a series of portfolios called Today's Lists with information from that trading day. It's a useful tool for getting a quick picture of how the market moved that day. Here's a sampling of what made Today's Lists today, Sept. 1: 52-Week Highs: CarMax(KMX Quote) hit a new high of $17.66 on Tuesday before closing down 2.7% for the day at $16.85. Broadcom(BRCM Quote) also hit a new high, of $29.25, but closed down 2.5% for the day at $27.74. For more stocks reaching new highs, check out the 52-Week Highs list. Biggest % Gainers: CarMart(CRMT Quote) was one of the day's big gainers after beating analysts' quarterly earnings expectations. The stock closed up $3.45, or 16.8%, at $24.05. Novavax(NVAX Quote) rose 10.1% to $6.65 after meeting a flu vaccine study goal. For more stocks that rose big today, check out the Biggest % Gainers list. Biggest % Losers: The days biggest losers included AIG(AIG Quote), down 20.6% to $36; Fannie Mae(FNM Quote), down 17.6% to $1.59; and Freddie Mac(FRE Quote), down 17% to $1.90. Analyst Upgrades: Bank of America/Merrill Lynch bumped its rating on Coach(COH Quote) up to buy from neutral and increased its price target on the stock to $36.
