Are we going to have one of those days like yesterday when the market resembles a quant trainee's simulated "play game"?

In my relentless search for net/nets, I have come across quite a few that I like. However, there are a few of them that are heavily shorted (two have over 30% of their float shorted). I know shorts are usually pretty smart, so it is causing me to second guess my analysis... Any thoughts on this?

The market sure is hanging a large part of its collective hat on mark-to-market accounting [reform]. We've rallied pretty hard up to this point on this news... If this was such an elixir, why has the government waited seven to eight months into this crisis to address this issue publicly?

Birenberg: I don't know why it took this long to get to M2M reform... However, this rally is more than M2M. Starting with the Citi (C Quote) news and then followed up by today's stats, there is beginning to be some balance in the outlook. To read more, visit Stockpickr.com.
