YouTube to Carry EMI Artists

Google's(GOOG Quote) YouTube video-sharing service and record label EMI unveiled a new partnership on Thursday.

Under the terms of the agreement, YouTube users will get access to music videos by artists under the EMI label. Along with being able to play videos, YouTube users will also be able to incorporate aspects of the videos into their own types of content.

EMI manages a number of prominent artists including David Bowie, Coldplay, The Decemberists, Fat Boy Slim, Gorillaz, Lily Allen and Norah Jones.

On Wednesday, Google announced a new partnership with Apple(AAPL Quote) in which Apple TV users will be able to access YouTube videos. EMI has recently made a number of strides in promoting more open access to its music content.
