Commodities were mixed Wednesday morning, with energy prices ticking higher while precious metals eased.
Oil futures in New York were up 26 cents at $58.26 a barrel. Natural gas was adding about a penny to $7.25 per million British thermal units. Heating oil was fractionally higher at $1.65 a gallon, and gasoline was ahead by 1 cent to $1.63 a gallon. Turning to metals, gold slipped 70 cents to $671.30 an ounce, and silver was down 1 cent to $13.96 an ounce. Copper rose nearly 10 cents to $2.69 a pound.
