Here's what Jim Cramer had to say about some of the stocks that callers offered up during the "Mad Money Lightning Round" Thursday evening:
TD Ameritrade(AMTD Quote): "Does seem like a coiled spring. ... Even though I like Ameritrade, I am going to send you to the lowest-multiple stock in the group." It's
Goldman Sachs(GS Quote), said Cramer, who owns it for his
Action Alerts PLUS charitable trust.
Yahoo!(YHOO Quote): "I would sell it before Sue Decker [CFO] opens her mouth and preannounces to the downside once again."
Adobe Systems(ADBE Quote): "About to ramp. ... I'm giving it two thumbs up, way up."
Alcatel-Lucent(ALU Quote): "I am getting all the right signals that this company is actually going to make it. ... I'm hearing the quarter's good ... the business is coming back. Giving it a tepid one thumb up." But Cramer put it in the Don'tBuy category.
Valero Energy(VLO Quote): "
ConocoPhillips(COP Quote) announced disturbingly low margins on refining," which Cramer said doesn't bode well for refining company Valero. Cramer said Valero "can go as low as 47," and only then would he sanction it.
Stryker(SYK Quote): "This whole group is
en fuego ... one of those companies that is probably in the sweet spot for this particular market," which is broken bones. "The baby boomers' play for bones."
