"Bernanke is a loved figure on Wall Street," said Jim Cramer on Wednesday's "Stop Trading!" segment on CNBC.
Responding to implications that the Federal Reserve chairman was involved in a cover-up regarding Bank of America's(BAC Quote) acquisition of Merrill Lynch, Cramer called an attack on Bernanke's integrity "ridiculous" and "outrageous.""This is a man who'd rather die than do something unethical," said Cramer. "This is just some shameful accusation by a man who'd clearly walk a mile for a camera." "Bernanke took control of the situation when it looked like we were going to lose this country," said Cramer. "He did a remarkable job." Cramer said that he's been critical of Bernanke "for taking too long to cut rates," but he'd never criticize the Federal Reserve chairman's integrity.
