Semiconductor-related exchange-traded funds were among the best performers of Friday's session. Earlier, Stifel Nicolaus upgraded Texas Instruments (TXN - Get Report) to buy from hold, saying the chipmaker's overstock inventory has been reduced.
On the other hand, bundled securities following the energy sector were among the worst performers. The front-month April contract was recently falling by $1.64 to $60 a barrel. The iPath Goldman Sachs Crude Oil (OIL) ETF was recently shedding 1.9% to $36.85. The United States Oil (USO) ETF was giving back 1.9% to $50.31.The Internet HOLDRs (HHH) ETF was hurt by Yahoo! (YHOO). The Internet giant slumped 5% after The Wall Street Journal reported it may scale back its partnership with AT&T (T - Get Report). The ETF was falling 87 cents, or 1.6%, to $53.44.
