The public list of people targeted by Hewlett-Packard's(HPQ Quote) corporate spying program continues to grow.
Investigators hired by the tech giant improperly gained access to phone records of two of the companys employees, including one of its spokesmen, according to an Associated Press report over the weekend. Spokesman Michael Moeller was one of two employees the investigators targeted, said Robert Sherbin, another company spokesman quoted in the AP report. Sherbin said that the companys investigation found that Moeller wasnt involved in the leaks. Sherbin would not reveal the identity of the second employee. Patricia Dunn, H-P's chairwoman, has been under fire for authorizing the investigation into press leaks at the company. Investigators hired by the company impersonated board members, journalists and employees in order to obtain their phone records. California and federal authorities are looking into whether those actions violated the law. H-P Tuesday said CEO Mark Hurd will replace Dunn as the companys chairperson in January. The company's shares ended Friday down 7 cents at $36.18.- Loading Comments...
