Google (GOOG Quote) shares soared 5% Monday, setting an all-time high. The stock rose $21.11 to close at $480.78 Monday, after earlier trading as high as $484.74. Google shares hit their previous all-time intraday high of $475.11 back on Jan. 11. Google's recent gains come on the heels of Thursday afternoon's earnings blowout. The stock is up 13% since Google beat third-quarter earnings targets by 20 cents a share. Ironically, Google's all-time high was set just a week before an earnings disappointment sent shares plunging below $400. The stock is up 455% since its August 2004 initial public offering. The news comes as the broader market, as reflected by the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average, has also risen to new highs. The Dow rose 103 at midday Monday to 12,106, three days after it first passed Dow 12,000 on a closing basis.- Loading Comments...
